If we are to believe the latest rumors coming from China, Mi5 Xiaomi smartphone could be one of the first devices in the world that will use Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology, which the company is developing called Snapdragon Sense 3D Fingerprint ID.
Qualcomm Sense ID creates detailed 3D map of user’s finger, and unlike currently existing fingerprint scanner, this will not interfere with the identification even if the user wants to do the scanning with wet or dirty finger. In addition, people from Qualcomm state alsothat the ultrasonic sensors will improve the precision of the scan, and abolish the need for capacitive sensors.
This Xiaomi smartphone will reportedly be the first to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which supports the aforementioned technology for fingerprint recognition, and its other specs can be found here
