Microsoft had announced that they entered into a partnership with Red Hat in order to offer support to Azure cloud service for the popular Red Hat Linux distribution.

According to The Register, the partnership of Microsoft and Red Hat is based on four key elements – first of all, Azure will be certified for Red Hat for Enterprise Linux deployment, and both companies will have their teams ready to work together to provide support to users.

Besides that, Red Hat’s system for virtual machines and cloud management, CloudForms, will receive support for Azure, while integration with Microsoft’s System Center will enable administrators to manage Red Hat Linux on Hyper-V and Azure, and Red Hat will add support for Microsoft .NET Core technology.

Red Hat noted that this is not their first collaboration with Microsoft, but they did emphasize that this is the biggest so far.
