The rumors have been confirmed about Konami is abandoning AAA games that was previously denied.

Konami has disbanded its “Kojima Productions LA” development team in Los Angeles responsible for the development of Metal Gear Online. The company confirmed this move to Polygon, at the same time noting that the Metal Gear Online is still scheduled to come out in January for PC.

Although the Konami promised support for Metal Gear Online (and you have to admit it would be counterproductive if they wouldn’t do it), employees of Kojima Productions LA studios lost their jobs – 35 of them, actually.

So this development team, which has helped the development of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, worked for only two years.
